RENDEZVOUS 2008 (26th annual), hosted by Club T MG Portland, Cottage Grove, Oregon. This long-weekend event features many familiar and many innovative events. In addition to a car show, there will be a rally while walking! Tour the picturesque covered bridges and have an old-fashioned ice-cream social. The funkhana is a car game that uses driving skills, an outdoor awards banquet and perhaps a gold mine tour. You don’t need to own a T-Series MG to join the fun. All MGs, plus Jaguars are welcome with a special class for ‘Other British’ in the show. For more information, contact Donna McNabb (503) 645-9302, or http://www.mgoc.org

Rod-A-Rama
This is a pre-1965 traditional hotrods and customs only event.
The Promoters would like to pass this on...
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
In order for the HOTROD-A-RAMA to continue at its present location the organizers have been forced to make the following changes to keep the number of vehicles attending from exceeding the capacity of the available space and resources:
- Motorcycles of any type will not be allowed entry
- Any car that the organizers feel is not a traditional hot rod or custom or does not represent the spirit of a traditional hot rod or custom (like stockers and muscle cars) will not be allowed entry
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

Action packed motorcycle drag racing set to thrill fans at Mission Raceway Park throughout August weekend.
Mission Raceway Park, Mission BC
It’s going to be a blast of a weekend at Mission Raceway Park on August 9 - 10. That’s when the Canadian Motorcycle Drag Racing Association (CMDRA) will present bike drags featuring top fuel Harleys. The roar of the engines as power machines hurtle down the track to be first over the line will blow spectators away!
Spectators at CMDRA events are invited to visit the pits and talk with the racers and crews, participate in our free race school on Race Saturday, and for those who dare, race against the clock on the track.
The CMDRA was formed in 1993 by a group of West Coast Professional dragbike racers and motorcycle enthusiasts. Though only in operation for a few years, CMDRA has become known throughout Canada and the USA for its commitment to safety, development and enhancement of All Make Motorcycle Drag Racing. The CMDRA, a non-profit association, is the only fully sanctioned drag bike racing association in Canada.
For more information on the CMDRA, race schedules and Mission Raceway Park visit http://www.cmdra.com.

In May of 1958 a small group of adventurous car buffs set out on a landmark trek across southern British Columbia. The occasion was B.C.'s Centennial - 100 years since the formation of the Crown Colony of British Columbia, under governor James Douglas. The provincial government sponsored the trip, with fuel provided by Imperial Oil.
Now, fifty years later, British Columbia is celebrating its Sesqui-Centennial. As part of the celebration, a re-creation of the Fernie to Victoria trip will take place, once again uniting the communities of southern B.C. with a show of history and celebration.

11th Annual Concours d"Elegance and BMW Heritage Celebrstion
Waterfront Park, 200 block Esplanade, North Vancouver
Time: gates open to entrants at 10:00am
Entry Fee: $10 display, $20 judged cars.
Details: Celebrate your BMW and show it to fellow members and the public at our Annual Concours and Heritage Celebration at Waterfront Park.
Display and Judged categories available for participants.
The Concours and BMW Heritage Celebration is an annual event to celebrate the cars of our members and the BMW marque. We are fortunate to have a high proportion of well maintained older cars in our club, many of them are excellent condition daily drivers.
The purpose of our 'Concours' or gathering is to recognize and appreciate the various BMW vehicles in our club. We have cars from over 60 years of BMW history.
Participants are encouraged to bring their cars and show them at this event by entering them in one of the two categories for this event. Display is for the showing and appreciation of all the cars in the club. We recognize the beauty and value of these cars, and are encouraging all members to display their cars on the grass for others to view.
For those that have a competitive nature, we have the Judged categories. Here we have a variety of classes based on the age and type of car, and of course also based on how clean and detailed the owner has kept their car.
In addition to viewing all the cars, this is a great event to meet fellow BMW owners and socialize, it is a event suitable for the entire family. We'll have a Bavarian Hot dog vendor on site available at a reasonable price, or you can bring your own picnic lunch, or head over to Lonsdale Quay for something exotic.
Plan to attend now. www.bmwccbc.org

Steamworks Concours D' Elegance
Water Street, Gastown, Vancouver,
Steamworks Restaurant will host the Sixth Annual Steamworks Concours d’Elegance on tree-lined Water Street in Gastown, Vancouver’s heritage area. The venue showcases both vehicles and the importance of preserving history. Last year an estimated 50,000 people came to see the event.
The Concours highlights elegant, interesting cars and motorcycles. Entrants are invited and judged. 90 entrants span classes from vintage motorbikes, muscle cars, and domestic and foreign cars from pre-1917 to the 1970’s. This year we also have a Featured Class called “One Hundred Years of General Motors Cars.”
We are pleased to see entrants from across the Pacific Northwest and have quite a number of participants crossing the border from Washington State to join us.
We anticipate Cadillacs, an Alvis, Bentleys, Packards, a 1912 Abbott-Detroit, an HRG, Jaguar, Austin-Healey and many more.
This show is by invitation only for cars so please come as a spectator.
