This engine could only be designed by a friend of the Carb manufacturer and an enemy of the mechanic. These carbs make the 250 Testa Rossa one of the sweetest sounding cars on any racetrack.

Big stinkin' Can-Am car with ice cold Heinys sticking out of the velocity stacks...the beer is probably cheaper than the racing fuel that the car gulps in big quantities. Can-Am cars were some of the thirstiest racecars ever made, and that certainly helped with their demise from pro racing in the seventies.

This finned Alfa Romeo engine from the 30's may be the best looking engine of the Vintage era. These Alfas' helped make Enzo Ferrari famous, as he was in charge of the race team.

This engine of course was designed by a friend of the air cleaner manufacturer. It may of been an attempt to make the engine look far more exotic than it really was.

This photo was one of the first that I took of an engine alone. As I was looking at the whole car, the engine kept looking like some sculpture at the back of the car, completely independent of the cars design. I still am fascinated by the beauty of the mechanical "bits" of cars.
